“Rejection, acceptance and forgetting.”

17th Week ( Mt 13:54-58)

I.          Story:  Can’t please everybody

-          God cant please everybody

II.                Here in the Gospel we heard Jesus rejected by his own “kababayan” or town mates.  The people he grew up with, the people he grew up with, the people he prayed with his neighbors.  All of them rejected him.

-          and most likely, tayo din naka-experienced ng rejection
-          Rejection from parents, teachers, classmates, sometimes from our own friends.
-          Perhaps because, we are not that efficient like the others we are not that intelligent like the other, not as good looking like the other as rich like the others.
-          Now how does it feel to be rejected?  Ano feeling? (masakit, malamig o basag ang iyong kalooban, broken heart person.

III.             But actually this is something, even more painful than rejection.  That is when you are first accepted and then forgotten later on, abandoned or taken for granted
-          e.g.  BF – sweet na sweet, then for sometimes he takes her for granted
-          end up in breaking
-          rejection is painful enough, but acceptance and forgetting are even more painful

IV.             Conclusion:

-          Mga kapatid, kung sa atin masakit yon, ang tanggapin tapos kalimutan.  Ano pa kaya sa Panginoon, na palaging nariyan sa tabi mo, sa harapan, pero hindi mo pinapansin.
-          So this first Friday, we ask the Lord for pardon for accepting him and their forgetting all about him.
